He retired from the NBA when most of the players competing in tonight's GMAC Bowl were still in elementary school, so it was only fitting that Charles Barkley had a fatherly message to share with the Troy Trojans and Central Michigan Chippewas Tuesday.
"Sports has become such a big business now. I always worry about the players not getting their education," said Barkley, who served as the guest speaker at the GMAC Bowl Mayor's Banquet. "All you guys are not going to make it in professional sports. You've got to make sure you're using football and football's not using you."
