Rachel Uchitel love life has been in the spotlight before the Tiger Woods rumors, for radically different reasons. Attention was on Uchitel in the wake of September 11, after she tragically lost her fiance, Andy O’Grady, in the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

Her photo appeared in the New York Post as she clutched her fiancé’s picture. CBS Affiliate WCBS-TV spoke with Rachel one year after the 9/11 attacks. She told them, “When I think of Andy I no longer cry. I smile and I laugh. I’m at that point now. I can go on everyday knowing that somebody like him chose me to love.”

According to the New York Times, in 2004 tragedy turned into new love. On Sept. 11, Ehrenkranz had left the Twin Towers just before the first plane made impact, according to the paper. A few days later he was shocked to see Uchitel’s photo in the New York Post. The couple had attended private school together as teens. The pair married on Nov. 2004, only to divorce 4 months later.
